THE SCHEDULE

Thirteen sessions. Thirteen Mondays. One coherent arc.

The Flourishing Framework unfolds over fourteen weeks — each session building deliberately on the one before, each new concept taking root in what participants are already practicing.

The pace is intentional: deep enough to change how you see, spacious enough to let the seeing become doing.

All sessions meet Mondays, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon, May 18 through August 17, 2026.

ONBOARDING

Session 1

Who We Are and Why We're Here

MAY 18

Before content, connection.

Participants meet one another, surface what brought them to this work, and establish the shared commitments that will make the next thirteen weeks genuinely generative.

The cohort itself is one of the most important things this course builds.

Module 01 —

MINDSET: The Invisible Architecture

Session 2

The Leader's Interior

june 1

Before strategy, before culture, before systems — there is the leader's own way of seeing.

We begin with the proposition that unsettles most leadership development: transformation starts inside you, not around you.

Session 3

Below the Waterline

june 8

Events are symptoms. Patterns are causes.

This session teaches the iceberg discipline — learning to read what's beneath the surface of any organizational situation and intervene where real leverage lives.

Module 02 —

ACTIVATE: Creating the Conditions for Co-Ownership

Session 4

The Activation Engine

june 15

Psychological safety and high standards aren't opposites — together they are the soil in which other people's best work grows.

This session makes that combination practical and repeatable.

Session 5

Becoming Bilingual

june 22

Every organization speaks two languages: the language of control and accountability, and the language of agency and possibility.

Most leaders are fluent in only one. This session shows you how to change that.

MID-COURSE APPLICATION LAB

Session 6

What's Actually Shifted

june 29

Before going deeper, we pause.

Participants bring a real leadership challenge to the room and run it through the lenses acquired so far.

Less content, more integration — and a chance to hear what's already changing in how others are seeing.

Module 03 —

REIMAGINE: Seeing the Shape of the Transition

Session 7

Rehearsing Multiple Futures

july 6

We open with Bill Sharpe's map of how serious change-makers think about the future — four distinct orientations, and a clear case for why two of them are the ones this moment demands.

From there, we move directly into scenario development: not prediction, but disciplined preparation for a world that refuses to be singular.

By the end of this session, you will have created your 4 plausible alternative futures for your organization so you can begin to rehearse adaptive strategies.

Session 8

Three Horizons: Where Are You in the Transition?

july 13

The most powerful futures tool in the Framework. Participants map the system they're in, the future they most want, and the emerging signals already pointing the way — locating themselves within the transition they're actually living.

We close by returning to Sharpe's map: with scenario thinking and Three Horizons now in hand, participants see exactly where these tools live, how they work together, and why no serious change-maker can afford to navigate without both.

Module 04 —

LEVERAGE: Questions and Conversations as Culture-Shifting Levers

Session 9

Questions Create Culture

july 20

The questions you normalize are the culture you get.

This session reframes every conversation a leader holds as an act of organizational design — and introduces the question archetypes that shift energy in a room.

Session 10

The Flip

july 27

Deficit talk is a gravity well.

The Listen–Label–Lift move is how you interrupt it — not by denying difficulty, but by standing in a stronger place while you address it.

Participants practice until it becomes a reflex.

Module 05 —

ADAPTATION: The Continuous Practice of Flourishing

Session 11

Micro-Moves That Compound

august 3

Durable change isn't built in retreats and strategic plans.

It's built in how meetings open, how resistance is met, and how the organization narrates its own progress.

This session makes those micro-moves explicit and repeatable.

Session 12

The Architecture Lives

august 10

The final teaching session turns the Framework back on itself: how do you sustain and deepen this practice after the cohort ends?

Participants leave with a personal commitment to the one or two moves that matter most.

SUMMATIVE APPLICATION LAB

Session 13

What You've Built, Where You're Taking It

august 17

The capstone.

Each participant surfaces the shift that matters most — in how they see, how they lead, and what they're now making possible.

The room becomes, for ninety minutes, a living demonstration of everything the Framework teaches.

What Makes This Different

Presence Before Technique

Every session opens with a presence practice, so you lead from quiet influence, not reactive hustle.

Sector-Trusted Tools, One Pathway

Appreciative Inquiry,  scenario thinking, Three Horizons, Listen-Label-Lift, and the Impact/Readiness matrix (to name only a few) woven into a single arc.

Reflection Equals Instruction

A mid-course and summative application lab lets you test ideas, dig deeper on key concepts, and explore how you make it all work in your setting.

Purpose-Built Community Zone

A private cohort space keeps resources in one place and invites peer discussion between sessions. Every one of us has something to teach and to learn.

"Every one of us has something to teach and to learn."

“Gary Hubbell's Flourishing Framework awakened the leader within me, stretching the boundaries of influence I can have in order to help the teams and organization I am part of flourish.” - Shari Scales, Sr. Philanthropy Director

“You are the deepest, richest, most-informed person I’ve come across. It’s clear that you’re a practitioner of the things taught in this framework.” - Alapaki Nahale-a, Catalyst for Positive Change

Properly framing a challenge requires leadership with an appreciation of organization behavioral dynamics. I have familiarity with a variety of framing perspectives but putting them in a broader context enabled me to lead in ways I had not done previously. The stretch was really energizing for me.” - Kevin Boettcher, VP, Business Development

The Flourishing Framework bundles many of the valuable practices and lessons that Gary has refined over the years. In all of my time working with Gary, I have encountered a very unique way of thinking about/approaching a situation, which means that in every experience I have been positively challenged to grow and think way outside of "my box."" - Maggie Demers, Director of Communications & Public Relations at the University of Alaska Foundation
